Unsheathe your Sword this Ramadan

Assalamalaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuhu.

 Alhamdulillah, assalaatu wassalaamu ’ala Rasoolullah

The month of Ramadan is here. May Allah give us tawfeeq to fast this Ramadan and thus earn His countless Mercy and forgiveness for our sins.

My dear brothers and sisters in Islam, we, the Muslim Ummah is now witnessing one of the rarest moments in history. As people say, we are now witnessing the uprising of the Muslim Ummah to the glorious days of past – Insha Allah. We have seen people in Tunisia, Egypt, Libya, Yemen and rise, the last year. We have seen how Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala has toppled the oppressive regimes one after the other at the hands of simple steadfast Muslims, and now glad tiding are flowing from Syria regarding the crumbling of Bashar the murderer. Alhamdulillah, Allahu Akbar! the mujahideen in FSA has already managed to take some of his top officials out.

Brothers and sisters, we know that our people are oppressed all over the globe, whether it is in Palestine, Kashmir, Syria, Chechnya, China, or in Burma, the story is all the same with different people. The sad part is when we look at what our stance is towards these issues. Being a person living far away from these lands, I find myself as if living in a different universe. I see no concern from the people around me towards these sufferings our brothers bear, even though the words of our Beloved (s) are clear regarding these matters. I see no word spoken by the leaders of organizations – with the exception of a very few. Also I see no Imaam making a Khutba on the mimbar or any dua for these people. Sometimes it makes me wonder whether these people have not heard of these events or not.

Brothers and sisters, first let me remind you of the fact that it is a responsibility upon every Muslim to be concerned about other Muslims without differentiating between them based on the evils of nationalism or language. Let me quote the words of Sheikh Anwar (may Allah accept him as a shaheed) which I came across recently, here:

"Don't think that the problem of Kashmir is a Kashmiri problem or the problem of Chechan is a chechan problem or the problem of Palestine is a Palestinian problem , this is the problem of Muslim ummah because Allah (swt) does not know these different states and nations. Allah (swt) knows one Ummah. So whenever there is a punishment or there is a problem or there is suffering in one part of the Ummah , it is the suffering for all of us and we are all held responsible for it. So the problem we are going through now are because of us and we are responsible for solving them"

Let us look at what is happening around us.

We have our brothers and sisters in Palestine who are living in the largest prison in the world under the boots of the jewish pigs.

We have our brothers and sisters in Kashmir being daily oppressed daily by the worshipers of cow and private parts.

We have our brothers in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Yemen who are showered with bombs by cowardly US using drones. Above all these they have been back stabbed by their governments who joined hands with the murderers.

We saw our brothers in Syria who has rose up empty handedly against the firawn, the alawi shaytaan Bashaar who has mercilessly killed hundreds of innocents including a majority which is children.

We have the atheists of China who are oppressing our Uygur brothers and sisters to an extent that they have been deprived off the right to even fast and keep their Islamic Identity

Now we have the Buddhist Mushriks of Burma who are killing our Rohingya brothers and sisters who when sought help were denied by the so called Muslim government of Bangladesh.

Above all these, we have hundreds and hundreds of Muslim prisoners all over the world whom we know and also those whom we don’t know.  Among them are eminent Scholars of Islam like Sheikh Umar Abdurrahman, Sheikh Khalid Muhammad, Sheikh Abu Hamza al Misri, Sheikh Nasir bin Fahd, Sheikh Abu Qatadah and others whom I cannot recollect and those whom I don’t know. No the list is not complete without mentioning our brothers who have been abducted only because their crime was to aid Allah’s religion. Also no true muslim can ever forget our sisters who are the pearls of this Ummah, the mothers of our lions like our dear sister Dr.Aafia Siddique who is currently inside the dungeons of the American cross worshipers.

Brothers and sisters, aren’t these enough? Aren’t these enough incidents for any Muslim heart to break? But what has happened to us? We still live in our comforts. If there is something worrying us, then it is something related to the dunya. Our exams, our job, our family, our ‘this-and-that’ is haunting us in our sleeps yet these innocent souls are far away from remembrance. Think my dear brothers and sisters, think and do not restrain your tears from flowing down the cheek.

So what is the solution at hand? Allah (swt) has spoken in the Magnificent Qur’an that:

“And what is wrong with you that you fight not in the Cause of Allah, and for those weak, ill-treated and oppressed among men, women, and children, whose cry is: "Our Lord! Rescue us from this town whose people are oppressors; and raise for us from You one who will protect, and raise for us from You one who will help." (4:75)

So the solution indeed is in fighting for the sake of Allah to defend the honor and the religion of Muslims. The magnificent results of this method are evident and Syria stands before us as the latest example. Look how Allah elevated a group of Muslims from a life of oppression to a life of honor when they took up the arms. If the solution had been those colorful discussions and conferences and meets, how many of them have already occurred? No, indeed the victory comes from obedience to Allah and His Messenger (s).

So what about us? The ones who are not fighting rather sitting in the comforts of our homes? The ones who have tailored our own excuses to remain behind? The question arises, what is our role? Don’t we have any? Yes we might have shared hundreds of those pictures in Facebook, but is that enough?

Brothers and sisters, the least we could do is dua. And this is what I have to tell you in this post.
The dua, it is a weapon for the believers. And the believer is not excused for not using it because everyone possesses it, with the best sharpness and strength. Do not underestimate the power of your dua my dear brothers and sisters. It is sharper than the sharpest of all swords because the one who uses it is the slave of Allah and the One who answers it is Al-Qawiyy, Allah Subhanahu-wa-ta’la.

Brothers and sisters, I raise this need in front of all those who are reading this, who has at least the least amount of imaan in their heart and the least amount of love for the sake of Allah and hatred for the sake of Allah. I urge you all to unsheathe this sword of yours and point it towards the enemy and give them no respite, strike them with the strongest blows. Remember my dear brothers and sisters in Islam, this is the least you could do for this Ummah.

Brothers and sisters, what excuse do we have, not to pray for our Muslim brothers? We found ridiculous excuses to stay away from supporting them, financing them, and voicing for them, but what excuse do we have to not pray for them, as praying is conversation between the slave and his Master and there is no excuse at all to leave it. You don’t have to leave your job for raising your hands to Allah; you don’t have to lose your degree for that. All you need is a heart which is sincere and full conviction that they will be answered.

Brothers and sisters, sharing a post in Facebook might not serve the purpose. Yes, it might spread the word, but what purpose is in spreading the word if there is no action after that? We read those posts; put a ‘like’ to show our friends that we are concerned. Wake up from the slumber O beloved ones. Let us make some efforts before it is too late.

Brothers and sisters, the blessed month of Ramadan is here. Ramadan, as we know is the month of Mercy. Ramadan is the month of forgiveness. Ramadan, yes it is also the month of victory. The Ummah of Islam was granted many victories in the month of Ramadan my dear brothers. Indeed the victory of Badr and that of fat’h Makkah happened in the blessed month of Ramadan. So this unique month is by no doubt important for the ones who are battling their selves and those who are battling the enemies of Islam. If we are truthful to Allah and Islam in our commitment, this is the golden opportunity to show the world the power of the Imaan. Imagine what happens if a large mass of Muslims pray for the same cause. Imagine what happens when we pray for the same cause in the same blessed month. There is no larger destruction for the enemies of Allah than this my dear brothers and sisters.

Brothers and sisters let our prayers echo the horizon and let those be for the victory of the mujahideen. Let it be for the fall of the torturous Assad and his regime. Let our prayers be for the brave sons and daughters of Syria. Let our prayers be for the oppressed in the afghan. Let our prayers hit as missiles on the cowardly drones so that Allah subhanahu-wa-ta’la brings them down from His skies. Let our prayers be the whirls in which Allah subhanahu-wa-ta’la drown the navies of the enemies. Let us pray to Allah that He gives us back the lost pearl of this Ummah, the Khilafah upon the Prophetic methodology. O Ummah of Islam, the prayer of the oppressed is his biggest weapon.  There is no veil between the Allah and his oppressed slave.
